Canberra
Communications & Community Engagement Co-Ordinator | Remote
Australian Multiple Birth Association – Sydney CBD NSW
Contract | 2 days per week, with capacity to flex to 3 in peak periods | Remote, anywhere in Australia
Fixed term to 30 June 2028
About the role
The Australian Multiple Birth Association (AMBA) is looking for an organised, proactive and engaging part-time contractor Project Coordinator to help deliver an exciting national initiative supporting multiple birth families.
Working closely with AMBA's Board and project partners, you'll coordinate content, communications, community engagement and project activities across this work.
This is a varied, hands-on role ideal for someone who combines excellent written communication skills with strong organisation and enjoys working independently in a purpose-driven environment.
Please note This is a contract for services, not employment. The work is expected to require approximately two days per week on average, with more in peak periods, through to 30 June 2028. The contractor determines when and how the work is performed, subject to agreed deliverables and deadlines, uses their own equipment, software and systems, and may, with AMBA's consent, delegate or subcontract elements of the work. Remote, anywhere in Australia.
About the project
AMBA has received a grant from Minderoo Foundation as part of their work to elevate diverse voices across Australia's early childhood development landscape. The partnership will strengthen AMBA's role as a national voice and advocate for multiple birth families. It will support us to drive more equitable policy and service responses for our community, to build out our evidence base and further amplify lived experience voices, and to expand access to resources.
Over the next two years, this funding will power major streams of work including:
- An upgraded AMBA website,
a refreshed home for our community featuring new educational resources for multiple birth families, dedicated pages showcasing our affiliated clubs, lived-experience stories, and advocacy tools and policy documents.
- Sustained advocacy, coordinated campaigning across our national club network, engagement with government and policy stakeholders, and participation in Minderoo's Elevate Diverse Voices national partnership.
This role sits at the centre of these two streams.
What you'll do
- Coordinate the development of engaging content for both the website and social media channels.
- Collate and organise existing content to be repurposed on the new website.
- Map user journeys for the new website, so the content is structured around what families actually need.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) with families, clubs and directors before launch, and track fixes through to resolution.
- Collect and develop lived-experience stories from multiple birth families across Australia.
- Assist in creating practical advocacy resources, including guides, policy explainers and templates.
- Prepare and schedule content for AMBA's Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok and Instagram channels and monthly member communications, with AMBA retaining account ownership and final approval.
- Coordinate contributions and engagement across AMBA's network of 32 clubs.
- Maintain project, engagement and impact tracking information.
- Support project milestone reporting, annual reporting and evaluation activities.
- Help deliver campaigns including Multiple Birth Awareness Week.
About you
You’ll bring:
- Experience in communications,
content development, digital marketing, project coordination or a related field.
- Excellent writing skills and the ability to communicate clearly with different audiences.
- Experience managing organisational or community social media channels.
- Robust organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- A proactive, collaborative approach and confidence working with volunteers and external partners.
- A commitment to inclusive communications and representing diverse communities.
- Your own ABN and relevant insurances, or engagement through an agency that provides them.
- A current Working with Children Check (or equivalent clearance in your state or territory), or willingness to obtain one, as the role involves collecting stories and images from families with young children.
Experience in the not-for-profit/community sector, advocacy, early childhood, website content management, Mailchimp/email marketing or Google Analytics would be highly regarded
Working with AMBA
This is a primarily remote contractor role of approximately 2 days per week (0.4 FTE), with capacity to increase to 3 days (0.6 FTE) during peak periods by agreement. There are regular virtual meetings and occasional travel or in-person events.
You’ll have an opportunity to play a central role in a national collaboration, helping AMBA strengthen the voice of multiple birth families and develop resources and advocacy that can make a lasting difference.
Term: to 30 June 2028.
Applications close Friday 9 October 2026 at 11.59pm AEDT.
AMBA welcomes applications from First Nations people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, LGBTIQ+ people, people with disability, and people with lived experience of raising multiples.
This role is funded through AMBA's partnership with Minderoo Foundation.
