Chinova Resources is a private Australian resources company owned by the Shanxi Donghui Group of Companies, with principal activities focussed in North‑West Queensland. The company has existing operations at Osborne, south of Cloncurry, as well as several development projects and extensive exploration activity on a large tenement holding in the region. Chinova has other open pit and potential underground projects expected to commence. Key projects include the Osborne copper‑gold processing facility, the world’s highest grade molybdenum and rhenium deposit; and Mount Elliott, our flagship project, which contains one of the largest copper‑gold, mineralised systems discovered in Australia.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Technical Services Superintendent to join the Technical Services Team, sharing Chinova’s values and its commitment to safety and the environment.

About the role

The Technical Services Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the technical services department operations and functions of the business. This includes mine planning, geology and grade control, geotechnical engineering and mine survey at Osborne Mine Operations, to deliver secure, achievable and value‑adding mine plans and to ensure the accuracy of the technical information on which operating decisions are made. The role also provides strategic input into life‑of‑mine planning, resource and reserve development, ground control strategy and the technical basis for capital and growth decisions.

Key responsibilities

- Lead and promote a zero‑harm safety culture where all workers and contractors actively participate in hazard identification and risk management
- Ensure compliance with applicable Queensland legislation,



Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act 1999 (MQSH Act 1999) including the Work Health and Safety Act 2011, associated Regulations and Codes of Practice
- Maintain compliance with the site safety management system (JSA/JHA, risk assessments, emergency response plans, permit to work systems)
- Ensure mine designs, schedules and technical controls incorporate ground control and other principal hazard requirements
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual technical, production and reconciliation reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Lead the development, review and issue of life‑of‑mine, annual, quarterly and short‑term mine plans and schedules
- Lead geology, resource modelling and grade control, ensuring ore definition, drilling programs and sampling are of a standard that supports reliable reconciliation
- Lead geotechnical engineering, including slope and dump design, ground monitoring, and the review of geotechnical risk with Mining Operations
- Own the reconciliation process across the geology model, mine plan, mining and processing, and drive closure of material variances
- Provide annual budgeting estimates and rolling forecasts in conjunction with the Finance Team

About you

- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology or a related technical discipline
- Minimum 8 years' technical experience in mining,



including at least 3 years leading a technical services, mine planning or geology team
- Working knowledge of Queensland mining safety legislation, including the MQSH Act 1999 and the WHS Act 2011
- Proven successful safety leadership
- Ability to create and develop strong and trusting relationships at all levels
- Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written)
- Functional and operational understanding of mine planning, resource modelling, grade control, geotechnical risk and reconciliation
- Current Queensland Standard 11 induction, or the ability to obtain it on appointment
- Strong leadership, communication, and people‑management skills
- Solid financial acumen and ability to manage budgets and performance targets
