Across October and November 2028, cricket’s fastest and most exciting format will take centre stage on a truly global platform.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re building the team that will bring the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2028 to life and we’re looking for a Group Finance Manager to lead finance operations, reporting, controls and compliance across the LOC and tournament environment. This is a unique opportunity to establish strong financial governance and deliver accurate, timely financial information for one of the world’s biggest sporting events.
You’ll own end‑to‑end financial management, including month‑end and year‑end close, cash flow,
payroll review, statutory obligations and financial reporting. Working closely with the FP&A; Manager and leaders across the LOC, you’ll provide clear reporting and insights to budget holders, the Board, Audit & Risk Committee, ICC and other key stakeholders.
You’ll strengthen financial controls and compliance across Australia and New Zealand, lead audit processes and help implement and optimise the LOC’s finance systems covering the general ledger, invoice approvals, credit cards, payroll and consolidation. You’ll also oversee AP, AR and payroll operations, drive continuous improvement and build trusted relationships with banking providers, auditors, tax agents and the ICC finance team.
Based in Australia, this is a maximum term opportunity until February 2029.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Tertiary qualifications (Bachelor or Master’s) in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics or a related discipline and CPA / CA qualified
Experience in senior finance roles, ideally within complex, multi‑stakeholder environments
Financial control background, including reporting, audit, compliance and governance oversight.
Ability to translate financial data into clear, commercially focused insights and recommendations.
Experience in developing high‑performing finance teams.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of an organisation.
Advanced financial systems capability and strong Excel skills, with experience driving process improvement and automation.
Ability to operate at pace, manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a dynamic environment.
Ability to travel in and between Australia and New Zealand as required.
Experience in major events, sport, or project‑based environments
Experience with enterprise planning and reporting systems (e.g. TM1, Cognos or similar)
Exposure to international financial operations, including foreign currency and multi‑jurisdictional compliance.
