Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Structural Engineer for a fully remote position, focusing on building design. Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for various building types using state-of-the-art software.
- Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculation reports for construction.
- Collaborate closely with architectural teams and other engineering disciplines to integrate structural designs seamlessly.
- Ensure designs comply with all relevant building codes, national standards (SANS), and safety regulations.
- Review contractor submittals and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) during the construction phase.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams and clients remotely.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) or equivalent in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Professional registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) with ECSA is essential.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in structural design, with a strong portfolio of building projects.
- Advanced proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as ETABS, SAFE, Prokon, or similar.
- Thorough understanding of concrete, steel, and masonry design principles.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and client-management skills suited for a remote environment.
