Senior Desktop Support Engineer : Financial Services

The opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Senior Desktop Support Engineer to join a large financial services client in Sydney. You'll be the go-to person onsite for end-user support, guiding a small team of junior engineers and taking on infrastructure project work as it arises.
This is a contract of up to 12 months on a salary package of $100,000. The client is keen to start as soon as possible.
What you'll be doing
- Supporting end-user devices (PC and mobile), office devices (printers, AV equipment) and peripherals
- Supporting Microsoft Windows and the Office suite
- Acting as an escalation point for complex issues and providing guidance to junior engineers
- Working within incident, change and configuration management processes
- Identifying systemic issues, improvement opportunities and risks, and raising them with management
- Supporting infrastructure projects alongside end-user support
What you'll bring
- 5+ years of related experience
- Diploma or equivalent in IT or a related field
- Solid experience in an ITIL-driven workplace, with strong knowledge of incident, change and configuration management
- A good understanding of network and infrastructure technologies (servers, storage, switches, routers, patching), with the ability to support as guided by specialists
- Experience supervising or mentoring a small team of junior engineers
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- A strong customer service focus and excellent verbal and written English
- A self-directed approach, able to prioritise your own work and communicate clearly with internal customers
- Experience in a collaborative, large-scale multinational environment (preferred)
