The role involves…
- Assisting clinicians chairside during a variety of procedures
- Preparing and setting up treatment rooms
- Sterilising instruments and maintaining strict infection-control standards
- Updating and maintaining patient records
- Helping patients feel comfortable and at ease throughout their visit
- Supporting the wider clinical and front office team as needed
Where can this take you?
A Dental Assisting traineeship is just the beginning. Many of our team members have built long-term careers in dentistry, progressing into roles such as:
- Treatment Coordinator, the key link between chairside care and the patient experience by guiding patients through their treatment journey from start to finish
- Practice Coordinator or Practice Manager, overseeing day-to-day clinical operations
- Further study pathways, such as Certificate IV in Dental Assisting or Oral Health and even Dental Surgery (subject to eligibility and entry requirements)
- Specialised chairside roles supporting surgical, cosmetic or implant dentistry as you gain experience
