BlockBlueLight is looking for a Senior Regulatory Compliance Specialist to own and develop our regulatory compliance function, building on the strong foundations we already have in place. This is a rare chance to shape how compliance works at a growing company, not slot into a process that’s already been built for you.
You’ll set the strategy, decide what needs to be built internally versus resourced externally, and have a real budget to bring in specialist support where you need it. You won’t be doing this alone, but you will be the one deciding what "done right" looks like.
This role is for you if you:
- Have built or scaled a compliance/regulatory function inside a startup or high‑growth business not just operated within an established, mature team
- Know your way around US, Australia, Canada, EU and UK regulatory frameworks.
- Are comfortable with ambiguity, and energised (not overwhelmed) by building something from scratch
- Can prioritise the biggest risks first and explain your reasoning clearly to non‑specialists
- Know how to bring in and manage external consultants, testing labs, and advisors — and know when doing so is the right call
