About the role
We are seeking a Cashroom Assistant to join our team at our Molendinar, QLD location on a part-time basis. In this role, you will provide essential support to our cashroom operations, assisting with the handling, processing and reconciliation of cash and valuables. This position is crucial to maintaining the smooth operation of our cash handling services and ensuring all security protocols are strictly adhered to. You will work as part of a dedicated team committed to delivering secure and efficient cash management solutions to our clients.
Key responsibilities
- Assisting with the receipt, verification and processing of cash and coin deliveries
- Sorting, counting and preparing cash for transport or storage in accordance with procedures
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation of all cash handling transactions
- Performing daily cash reconciliations and reporting any discrepancies immediately
- Operating cash handling equipment safely and efficiently
- Ensuring the cashroom and work areas are kept clean, organised and secure at all times
- Supporting senior cashroom staff with daily operational tasks and procedures
- Adhering strictly to all security procedures, policies and regulatory requirements
- Reporting any security concerns or incidents to management immediately
What we're looking for
- A strong commitment to security and a willingness to maintain strict confidentiality at all times
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately with numerical data
- Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to work flexibly as required by operational needs
- Physical fitness and capability to handle cash boxes and materials safely and appropriately
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A valid Australian driver's licence (preferred)
- Previous experience in cash handling, retail or a similar environment would be advantageous
- A clean criminal history and the ability to pass background screening
- Proficiency with basic computer systems and data entry
