Peninsula Vet Care Rye is looking for an experienced small animal veterinarian to join the team from 5 October 2026, with the chance to stay through until March 2027.

Looking for a longer locum stint where you’ll feel welcomed, supported and part of the team? Whether you're after full-time hours or something more flexible, we'd love to hear from you.

More comfortable in the consult room than the operating theatre? We’ve got you covered!

If consulting is where you thrive, we’re happy to tailor the role around your strengths and interests, giving you the flexibility to focus on the work you enjoy most.

The Role

Start: 5 October 2026
Duration: Through to at least March 2027
Hours: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, 4 weekdays Monday–Friday
Flexible roster
30-minute unpaid lunch break
Small animal practice
Consult-only option available
Sole charge required
No public holiday work

Why Rye?

Enjoy the best of the Mornington Peninsula on your days off! From beautiful beaches and scenic coastal walks to relaxed winery lunches, local cafés, boutique shops and weekend markets.

Spend your mornings exploring the coastline, unwind with a winery or brewery visit in the afternoon, or enjoy the Peninsula’s renowned food and produce scene. With Melbourne just over an hour away, you’ll also have the flexibility to head into the city for a day or evening out, while returning to the relaxed coastal lifestyle of the Peninsula.

Travel & Accommodation Support

Coming from a little further afield? We’re happy to help make the trip worthwhile!

Travel reimbursement for VIC based applicants travelling more than 50km from home, at the applicable standard kilometre rate.
Accommodation support may be available for eligible locums travelling from outside the local area, particularly those committing to a block of shifts.

At VetPartners, we believe your veterinary career should reflect what you enjoy most. Whether that's consulting, surgery or somewhere in between, we're here to make the role work for you.
