The QNMU is seeking applications from across all health sectors to join us in an Educator - Nurse role. This is the perfect opportunity to combine your nursing, education and activist experience! This is a Fixed Term Contract parental leave cover role running through until Feb 2028.

About the QNMU

The Queensland Nurses and Midwives' Union (QNMU) is the primary industrial and professional organisation for nurses and midwives working in public, private, and aged care sectors in Queensland. The QNMU seeks to promote and defend the industrial, professional, social, political and democratic interests ofover 79,000 members.We have over 200 employees including organisers, professionals and administrative personnel, and manage a multi-million-dollar operating budget.

Your focus in this role will be to engage, build, develop and activate members and member leaders using professional-based education. The role also monitors and evaluates education offerings that build power and offers members quality continuing career development opportunities.

Who we’re looking for:





- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) equivalent or working towards (highly desirable).
- Demonstrated experience in delivering education so participants develop and apply knowledge and skills in a range of areas.
- Active experience in union organising and activities (highly desirable).
- High level of communication skills to persuade, influence or convince within relevant field of expertise.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team member and take a collaborative approach to work to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to research, analyse and evaluate training needs and reach sound conclusions and provide viable options.
- An ability to travel away from home for up to five (5) nights at a time.
- A current and valid driver’s license.

What are the advantages?

- Starting base salary of $130,069.54 per annum
- 5 weeks annual leave per annum + 17.5% leave loading
- Monthly ADO’s (13 per year) or opportunity to work compressed hours 9 day fortnight
- Christmas closure – no leave required
