The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, coordination and delivery of BY Group construction projects to required quality, safety, budget and program standards. The role provides senior oversight of project performance from initiation through to handover, with responsibility for commercial performance, cost and risk management, WHS, quality and stakeholder relationships. The Senior Project Manager will lead the broader project team, including Site Managers, Project/Site Engineers and Contract Administrators, to ensure successful project delivery.
The role will be site-based in Marsden Park, working primarily on Data Centre construction projects from an established site compound.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage projects to ensure delivery in line with approved plans, specifications and quality standards.
- Prepare detailed construction programs with milestones and monitor progress against targets.
- Maintain or improve project margins through solid cost control and commercial management.
- Provide accurate and timely progress reports to clients and BY Group management.
- Resolve issues promptly and work to avoid disputes, escalating where required.
- Ensure timely preparation and submission of invoicing documentation.
- Maintain accurate and retrievable records of meetings, correspondence and project documentation.
- Build strong and productive relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Respond promptly and professionally to client enquiries, complaints and requests.
- Ensure WHS compliance, establish site‑specific WHS plans and conduct monthly site audits.
- Follow up audit actions and ensure subcontractors hold required insurances.
- Identify environmental risks, implement controls and support environmental training requirements.
- Manage Site Managers, Project/Site Engineers and Contract Administrators to achieve strong project outcomes.
- Apply performance management practices and support development of future project leaders.

Qualifications and Competencies
- Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager delivering large-scale building construction projects.
- Trade qualification or tertiary degree in construction, engineering or a related field.
- Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, regulations and quality standards.
- Experience delivering commercial, industrial or other technically complex building projects.
- Experience in data centre construction will be viewed favourably.
- Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills.
- Strong leadership capability with experience supervising site and project teams.
- Advanced communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage all stakeholders.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage budgets, forecasts and cost controls.
- Proficiency with construction management software (Procore desirable) and MS Project.
- Experience with Visibuild and HammerTech will be highly regarded.
- Strong problem‑solving, decision‑making and conflict‑resolution skills.
