Our reception team is an essential part of that care. A welcoming first conversation, a carefully coordinated appointment and a clear explanation can make a specialist visit feel less daunting. We're looking for someone who understands that excellent administration and a positive patient experience go hand in hand.

About the role

This is a senior, hands-on front-desk position , working closely with our specialists, Practice Manager, patients and referring healthcare providers.

You'll help coordinate the day: keeping appointments organised, anticipating what needs attention and making sure patients feel informed and welcome. It's a role for someone who enjoys responsibility, takes pride in getting the details right and knows how to stay calm when priorities change.

What your day will involve

- Creating a welcoming patient experience: managing reception and patient flow, answering enquiries and handling sensitive conversations with professionalism and compassion.

- Keeping specialist clinics organised: scheduling appointments,



managing doctor diaries and confidently using Gentu to support day-to-day practice administration.

- Managing billing and accounts: processing patient payments, Medicare and private accounts, and following up outstanding payments with accuracy and tact.

- Keeping information moving: coordinating referrals, correspondence and medical documentation, and liaising with specialists, GPs, hospitals and other healthcare providers.

- Supporting a well-run practice: maintaining accurate, confidential patient records, assisting with general administration and working alongside the Practice Manager to keep daily operations on track.

About you

You're an experienced medical receptionist who understands both sides of the role: the precision needed behind the desk and the warmth needed across it.

You notice a missing referral before it becomes a problem. You can explain an account clearly and respectfully. And when the diary changes, you can work through the next steps without making patients feel rushed.

You'll bring:

- Previous experience as a senior medical receptionist , ideally within a specialist medical practice.

- Robust hands-on experience with Gentu and a good understanding of Medicare and private billing.

- Excellent communication skills, with a friendly, confident manner and respect for patient privacy.

- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy reception environment.

- The judgement to work independently, alongside a collaborative approach to supporting colleagues.
