Technical Parts Advisor
Are you an experienced Parts Interpreter or Parts Advisor who enjoys helping customers, building relationships, and driving sales? About the Role
- Provide professional parts interpretation and customer service via phone, email and trade counter enquiries.
- Identify and supply the correct parts efficiently and accurately.
- Drive parts sales through upselling and cross‑selling opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to encourage repeat business.
- Manage customer backorders and provide proactive updates.
- Assist with inventory control, stock replenishment and stock takes.
- Support merchandising and promotion of aftermarket and genuine parts product lines.
- Work collaboratively with workshop and sales teams to ensure customer needs are met.
About You
- Previous experience in Parts Interpreting, Parts Sales or a similar automotive, trucking, diesel or industrial environment.
- Strong customer service and relationship‑building skills.
- Knowledge of diesel engines, internal combustion engines, heavy vehicle, automotive or related equipment industries.
- Ability to read and interpret parts catalogues and technical information.
- A positive, team‑focused attitude and strong attention to detail.
- Forklift licence (desirable but not essential).

We are seeking a skilled Technical Parts Advisor to deliver expert support across the full lifecycle of customer equipment.
In this role, you’ll combine your technical knowledge and customer service expertise to interpret customer requests, identify correct parts and recommend fit‑for‑purpose solutions. You’ll be a key point of contact for customers, ensuring every interaction reflects professionalism, urgency, and a commitment to quality.
Deliver exceptional service via phone and face‑to‑face interactions.
Accurately process parts orders to meet “on time, in full” expectations.
Interpret customer needs using CAT systems, manuals, and technical knowledge.
Interpret fault codes and provide fit‑for‑purpose parts solutions.
Provide technical advice and product support across a diverse equipment range.
Maintain accurate data across systems and adhere to operational standards.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key account customers.
Collaborate with internal teams (warehouse, freight, service) to resolve issues and ensure seamless delivery.
Support after‑hours service requirements when needed.

About you:
- Trade qualified with 3+ years’ of experience in customer service, order fulfilment and technical support.
- Proven ability to interpret customer issues and recommend solutions.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Experience with CAT systems or similar diagnostic tools (highly regarded).
