About Us
We are a proud NDIS Disability Support Services Provider focused on delivering high-quality care and support to our community. We operate in a highly dynamic sector, and we pride ourselves on an inclusive workplace culture that champions the professional growth of our people.
With the landscape of employment regulations rapidly moving forward, we are expanding our HR function to bring on a specialist who can champion compliance and support our teams with confidence.
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Human Resources Officer to join our team in a true generalist capacity with a strong focus on industrial compliance. In this essential role, you will serve as our internal subject matter expert on the SCHADS Award (MA000100), taking full ownership of employee classifications, pay point progressions, and compliant contract variations. You will play an instrumental role in bridging the gap between operations, recruitment, and payroll to ensure our workforce remains fully supported, engaged, and compliant with all fair work regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Award Interpretation: Provide expert advice to managers, staff, and payroll on SCHADS classifications, broken shift rules, minimum engagement periods, and allowances.
- Lifecycle Management: Assist end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, part-time hour variations, and contractual updates.
- Compliance & Auditing: Keep our HR database up-to-date with current Fair Work regulations, assisting with regular roster and payroll alignment checks.
- Transition Strategy: Assist in navigating ongoing industrial adjustments,
including the upcoming December 2026 wage changes and future 2027 classification restructuring.
About You:
You are a detail-oriented HR professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and isn't afraid to dive deep into complex award rules.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Required: Proven hands-on experience interpreting and applying the SCHADS Award within an Australian workforce.
- Experience: 2+ years working in a Generalist HR, Employee Relations, or specialised Payroll/HR combination role.
- Knowledge: Deep familiarity with modern workplace conditions such as sleepovers, complex split shifts, or NDIS compliance.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written interpersonal skills with the ability to translate technical legislation into clear advice for all staff.
- Education: A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline is highly regarded but not essential if backed by strong industry experience.
What We Offer
Attractive Remuneration: Market-competitive salary with the advantage of NDIS/Charity Salary Packaging options to maximise your take-home pay.
Flexible Balance: Hybrid work arrangements with the technology provided to work successfully from home (conditions applied)
Positive Impact: A meaningful environment where your compliance oversight directly supports workers on the front lines of care.
