About the role
Deliver one-on-one literacy and mathematics instruction to a homeschooled primary school-aged student. Create engaging, interactive and practical learning experiences that move beyond traditional worksheets and desk-based learning, bringing literacy and mathematics to life through hands-on activities and real-world experiences.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver one-on-one literacy and mathematics instruction
- Create engaging, interactive and practical learning experiences
- Adapt teaching approaches to suit individual learning styles
- Build confidence, curiosity and independence in learning
- Work collaboratively with parents to support educational goals
- Maintain a positive, encouraging and supportive learning environment
About you
- Qualified teacher
- Demonstrated experience supporting children with diverse learning profiles
- Strong understanding of evidence-based literacy and numeracy instruction
- Ability to individualise lessons and think creatively
- Patient, flexible and highly engaging teaching style
- Robust communication and relationship-building skills
- Current Blue Card (or ability to obtain one)
- Experience with alternative education settings (desirable)
- Additional training or experience in learning differences, autism, ADHD, dyslexia or related educational support (desirable)
- Knowledge of multi-sensory and hands-on teaching approaches (desirable)
