About the Role
Kiki’s Tavern is seeking an experienced and passionate Full time Chef to join our kitchen team.
This is a fantastic chance for an experienced Chef to become part of an established hospitality venue and work within a professional and supportive team environment. The successful candidate will play an important role in delivering high-quality food, maintaining kitchen standards, and supporting the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen.

About You
We are looking for a Chef who:
- Has proven experience delivering high-quality food and maintaining excellent kitchen standards
- Has experience with menu planning, food preparation and cooking
- Has strong knowledge of a la carte and function service
- Can work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment
- Has excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Is able to follow directions while also demonstrating initiative
- Has a genuine passion for food and hospitality
- Is a strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Can remain calm and professional under pressure
- Has leadership skills and the ability to supervise and support other kitchen staff
- Is committed to maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety
Key Responsibilities
Your primary duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Planning menus and introducing creative dishes in consultation with management
- Preparing and cooking food to a consistently high standard
- Preparing food for a la carte and function services
- Ensuring consistency, quality and presentation of all dishes
- Ordering food supplies and kitchen ingredients based on menu requirements and stock levels
- Liaising with suppliers to place and confirm orders
- Monitoring stock levels and inventory
- Receiving and checking deliveries for quality, quantity and freshness
- Demonstrating cooking techniques and advising kitchen staff on appropriate cooking procedures
- Properly storing, freezing and preserving raw, semi-prepared and cooked food
- Supervising and coordinating kitchen staff during service
- Allocating duties and assisting with kitchen rosters and staffing requirements
- Training, mentoring and developing apprentice chefs and other kitchen team members
- Monitoring cleaning schedules and ensuring food hygiene standards are maintained
- Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety and food safety requirements
- Implementing workplace policies and procedures as directed by management
- Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient kitchen at all times
- Supporting the overall smooth operation of the kitchen and venue
Skills and Qualifications
Applicants should have:
- AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
- AQF Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
- Relevant skills assessment, where applicable
- A minimum of three years’ full-time relevant experience in a Chef role
- Previous experience working in reputable restaurants, pubs, or similar hospitality venues in Australia
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen operations
The advertised position of chef will be subject to probationary period of up to 3 months. This opportunity is perfect for an experienced Chef who have passion for food and cooking. This position is on a permanent long-term basis and will sit within an established team.
