About the role
The successful applicant will be responsible for the planning, coordination and successful delivery of civil construction projects from award through to completion and handover. The role manages project safety, program, budget, quality, resources, subcontractors, procurement and client relationships while ensuring contractual and legislative requirements are met.
Key responsibilities
- Manage civil construction projects from mobilisation through construction, completion and handover.
- Develop and maintain project programs, construction schedules, budgets and cash-flow forecasts.
- Monitor project costs, productivity and progress against budget and program.
- Manage project engineers, site engineers, supervisors and other project personnel.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, plant, labour and materials.
- Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work and contract documentation.
- Identify constructability issues and coordinate technical solutions with engineers, designers and clients.
- Manage procurement,
subcontractor packages and major material orders.
- Prepare and administer variations, progress claims, extensions of time and other contractual correspondence.
- Maintain project cost forecasts and report on financial performance, including committed costs and forecast cost-to-complete.
About you
- Bachelor of Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent.
- Substantial civil construction/project delivery experience.
- Relevant experience may include bulk earthworks, roads, drainage, underground services, subdivisions, concrete works, utilities, mining infrastructure or land development.
- Robust commercial and contractual knowledge.
- Project cost control and programming expertise.
- Leadership and subcontractor management capabilities.
- Client management skills.
- Problem solving ability.
- Sound understanding of WA construction and WHS requirements.
