About the business and the role

Aurum Contracting is a privately owned Civil Contractor, working in the traditional and renewable energy sectors We are currently seeking Labourers/Roller Operators to fill multiple casual full time roles with an immediate start on a civil construction project near Mount Isa QLD. Working FIFO with on a 21/7 roster. Note: these are NOT Brisbane based roles.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Perform all tasks relating to construction activities as directed by the site supervisor e.g.:

- Work as part of a team in various civil works e.g. (digging, trenching, fencing, pipework, laying out materials, clearing, leveling of surfaces, back filling, installation of sediment and erosion control measures)

- Operate Roller as required

- General labouring as required.

- Unloading and storing of materials

- Delivery of materials around site as needed

- Maintains tidy work area (safety)

Skills and experience

Essential Criteria:

- Must have an RII Roller ticket note: VOCs are not acceptable

- Knowledge and experience as a Labourer in the oil, solar construction or rail or similar industries

- Ability to complete all physical tasks related to Labouring work Note: this is not purely a Plant Operator role

- Ability and willingness to follow direction from the Site Supervisor or Project Manager

- Available for an immediate start





- Ability to pass Drug and Alcohol testing and health screening

- Ability and willingness to undertake online and face to face training and inductions

- Must have a 'smart phone'

- Ability and willingness to complete daily project documentation

- Ability to travel and work on remote sites and rosters (FIFO) which include weekends.

- Ability to pass a full functional medical assessment and Drug and Alcohol testing

- Must be comfortable working for a private company

- Current drivers license

- Construction White Card

- Strong safety awareness

- Ability to provide documented proof of right to work in Australia

Desirable:

- HR, MR or MC license or other plant RIIs

- First Aid Certificate
