About the role
This is a 6-month contract with the transparent intention of moving to permanent. You'll report to the Head of Finance & COFO and oversee the financial accounting function, making sure every statutory reporting and compliance obligation is met on time and accurately. You'll lead a team of Assistant Accountants, Payables Officers and a Receivables Manager.
What you'll be doing
- Leading, mentoring and developing the finance team
- Owning and coordinating the month-end close, including balance sheet reconciliations and journals for provisions, accruals, prepayments and consolidation adjustments
- Managing the annual statutory audit, or supporting it and leading where you can
- Reviewing FBT workings, income tax returns and monthly GST/BAS
- Reviewing US Sales Tax and US State and Federal income tax submissions, and liaising with external accountants on tax matters
- Preparing cash flow forecasts and optimising working capital and liquidity
- Managing relationships with banks and financial institutions
- Supporting the annual budget and quarterly forecasts
- Driving process improvement and getting the most out of NetSuite ERP
- Providing technical guidance on new and relevant accounting standards
- Ad hoc analysis and projects for the executive team
What you'll bring
- 5+ years in a similar Finance Manager role
- A degree in Accounting or Finance, plus CA/CPA (or equivalent)
- A proven people leader who mentors, trains and builds high-performing teams
- Strong analytical skills, and you present data clearly
