KBA Accountants is a well-established firm based in Maroochydore with a 28-year history on the Sunshine Coast. Our team looks after a broad mix of clients, including small-to-medium businesses, investors, SMSFs and not-for-profits. We also have a specialty niche in Management Rights for hotels and resorts.

The role

We're looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join our team. You'll work across a varied portfolio of clients and get exposure to work beyond standard compliance. Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing financial statements and tax returns for individuals, sole traders, partnerships, companies and trusts
Communicating directly with clients and building strong relationships
Assisting partners with tax planning and advisory work

About you

We want someone who is confident using their own judgement. You'll take ownership of your work, and when something doesn't fit the usual mould you'll be keen to work out the best approach.



You'll know when to ask for guidance, but you won't need step-by-step direction to get the job done. You'll enjoy variety and bring fresh thinking to a problem.

Essential:
At least 2 years experience in tax compliance in a public practice
Hands-on experience with Xero Practice Manager (XPM), Xero, Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.)
Strong working knowledge of Australian tax legislation
Good written and verbal communication skills

Desirable:
Experience with FYI Docs and MYOB
