$81,496per annum + 12% superannuation (VPS Grade 3.1 position)
Role based in the Melbourne CBD
The Honourable Justice Clements was appointed to the Supreme Court of Victoria on 8 September ****.
He is seeking a legally qualified individual to be his Associate commencing in November ****.
Before his appointment, his Honour practised mainly in areas of personal injury, product liability, class actions, general torts, institutional liability, and insurance and skilled disciplinary tribunals.
Prior to his appointment, he was a trustee of the not-for-profit organisation Law Aid and on the committee for the Common Law Bar Association.
His Honour is looking for a person who is interested in the law and the administration of justice, is enthusiastic and diligent, and who pays close attention to detail, particularly in respect of written work.
Duties include:
Assisting with the production of judgments, including proofreading and editing
Clerking in court, including jury trials
Reviewing files and orders
Performing administrative tasks, including maintaining court records and preparing material for use by the judge in court
Preparing research memoranda
Travelling on circuit when required
Liaising with court staff, the public, the media and the profession

About You
You will possess excellent interpersonal skills, including an ability to confidently and accurately convey information over the telephone, in person, and via written communication to members of the legal profession, the public and the media.
Exceptional proofreading and writing skills, proficiency in grammar and an excellent academic record is essential.
Applicants must be legally qualified, holding an LLB, JD, or equivalent tertiary qualification in law.
At least 18 months post admission experience is highly desirable.
