We are looking for a Mental Health Clinician to join the Thornbury Clinic at least three days a week. This is a part-time contractor role with flexibility in scheduling within agreed clinical hours. You'll bring a warm, relational style to your work, and be part of a small team that genuinely enjoys learning from each other.

Key responsibilities

Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with clients

Deliver trauma-informed interventions to adults, individually or in groups

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

Adapt therapeutic approaches to the needs of each client, drawing on evidence-based practice

Ensure cultural safety for clients from diverse backgrounds

Refer clients to relevant and/or supportive services where appropriate

Collaborate with other practitioners as needed to support integrated client care

Identify, assess, and manage clinical risk

Develop safety and risk management plans with clients

About you

Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, or Occupational Therapy, with appropriate professional registration

Full EMDR training (Level 1 & 2) and demonstrated clinical experience applying it

Minimum two years' hands-on counselling experience, with a solid understanding of mental health presentations





Medicare registered and eligible for rebate where applicable

Robust organisational, verbal, and written communication skills

Experience managing and containing client distress with composure and professionalism

A warm, relational, and highly developed interpersonal style

Commitment to ongoing professional development and quality clinical documentation

Culturally safe practice with diverse client groups

Proactive self-care and healthy work/life boundaries

Monthly individual supervision
