About The Opportunity
South Western Sydney Local Health District are looking for a Specialist General Practitioner to join the Mental Health Service.
This position will join a Physical Health Service that works to support the physical health care of mental health consumers.
The position is 0.4FTE (16 hrs/wk) - Quinquennial.The position will be supported by a multidisciplinary team that includes a dietitian, exercise physiologist, CNC and peer worker, in addition to a Primary Care Clinic GP service.

What You'll Be Doing
This position will facilitate improved physical health outcomes for individuals living with mental illness across the inpatient and community Mental Health Services in Liverpool Hospital.
This new position will contribute to the development of the Physical Health Service, working to ensure primary care needs are appropriately addressed and support optimal continuity of care.

Liverpool Hospital, founded in ****, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, offering a wide range of state-wide services including critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care, and brain injury rehabilitation.
As a key teaching facility for UNSW Sydney and Western Sydney University, it provides extensive clinical services, including emergency care, cancer treatment, paediatrics, and mental health services.
The hospital features 23 operating theatres and has a capacity for 877 beds.




The ongoing $830 million redevelopment as part of the Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct is transforming the hospital into a global hub for medical innovation.
This redevelopment will expand clinical services, enhance research and teaching facilities, and introduce state-of-the-art equipment and amenities.

Current medical practitioner, registered, or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and/or Fellow of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine as provided under the Health Insurance Act ****
Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice.
Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education/continuing professional development.
Demonstrated ability to comply with the service objectives of a public health organisation, including the provision of services to the local community, effective utilisation of resources and preparedness to participate in the provision of health services at LHD level
Evidence of ability to work cooperatively with other staff and practitioners and in a multidisciplinary health care team.
