Casual Disability Support Worker - South Brisbane Region n

As a
Casual Disability Support Worker
, you'll support people to live more independently, achieve their goals and be active in their communities. You'll work across our Supported Independent Living (SIL) and community programs, providing person-centred support based on each client's individual needs, goals and preferences.

What you will do
n
As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide high-quality, safe and individualised support to clients across SIL and community-based programs.
n
Your responsibilities may include:
n
n
Providing personalised support in line with individual support plans
n
Supporting clients with daily living activities and developing independence
n
Supporting clients to access community activities, appointments and social programs
n
Assisting clients to achieve their personal goals and build confidence
n
Providing support with personal care where required
n
Supporting clients with varying support needs, including high-intensity needs where required
n
Following Behaviour Support Plans and NDIS Practice Standards
n
Promoting choice, dignity, independence and human rights in every interaction
n
Maintaining accurate and timely client documentation
n
Working collaboratively with clients, families, colleagues and other professionals
n
About you
n
We're looking for people who are compassionate, reliable and committed to providing high-quality disability support.
n
You will ideally have:
n
n
Certificate III in Individual Support or above
n
A passion for supporting people with disability and safeguarding human rights
n
Previous disability support experience, particularly in SIL or community settings
n
Current or willingness to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check/ Yellow Card and Working With Children Check/ Blue Card
n
Current First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain
n
Current Driver's Licence
n
A reliable vehicle and willingness to transport clients when required (mileage reimbursed)
n
Passport, Birth Certificate or Citizenship Certificate to validate Australian work rights
n
Willingness to complete a National & International Police Check (paid by Afford)
n
Ability to complete a Pre-Employment Medical/Functional Assessment (paid by Afford)
n
