What you will be doing
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
n
Managing a broad range of family law matters, including parenting disputes, property settlements, financial agreements, divorce, family violence,
child support and Intervention Order proceedings
n
Running files autonomously from initial instructions through to resolution
n
Appearing in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia and the Magistrates' Court of Victoria
n
Advising clients and representing them in negotiations, mediations and dispute resolution conferences
n
Drafting court documents, correspondence and complex legal advice
n
Building strong client relationships and mentoring junior lawyers
n
Contributing to the continued growth and reputation of the firm
n
n
n
About you
To be successful, you will ideally have:
n
n
n
5+ years' PAE
, predominantly within family law
n
Strong technical knowledge of family law and relevant court procedures
n
Experience independently managing complex parenting and property matters
n
Confidence appearing in court and advocating for clients
n
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
n
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop trusted client relationships
n
A genuine desire to contribute to a positive and collaborative team culture
n
n
