FIFO Mechanic Roles - Trailer / Road Transport / HD Fitters (WA & NT)

About the Roles n
These opportunities suit trade-qualified mechanics with solid hands-on experience across trailers, heavy road transport fleets and/or mining mobile plant. You will be maintaining critical vehicles and equipment in safety-focused workshop and site environments, with clear temp-to-perm pathways for the right people.
Positions Available n
n
Trailer Mechanic / Trailer Assistant (TA) - $*****/hr + super on all hours
n
Heavy Road Transport Mechanic - $*****/hr + super on all hours
n
Heavy Diesel / HD Fitter - $*****/hr + super on all hours
n
Roster & Mobilisation n
n
WA roles (Goldfields, Pilbara, Mid-West): 2:1 FIFO with flights offered from Perth only
n
Northern Territory roles: 2:1 FIFO with flights covered from Brisbane and Darwin only
n
If you live outside these departure points, you will need to make your own way to and from the project
n
Duties Include n
n
Diagnose, service and repair trailers, heavy road transport vehicles and/or mining mobile plant
n




Complete planned maintenance, breakdown repairs and component change-outs
n
Inspect braking, suspension, coupling, hydraulic and driveline systems (role dependent)
n
Maintain service records and report defects in line with site and workshop standards
n
Work safely within FIFO mine site and workshop environments
n
Support fleet and plant uptime across haulage and production operations
n
Requirements n
n
Nationally recognised Heavy Diesel / Heavy Vehicle trade certificate (Trailer Assistant applicants: relevant trailer workshop experience considered)
n
Minimum 2+ years' post-trade experience working in Australia
n
Proven experience across one or more of: trailers / road trains, heavy road transport fleets, or mining mobile plant
n
Experience with Kenworth, Mack, Drake and/or Bruce Rock equipment highly regarded
n
Experience on CAT 980+ loaders and equivalent CAT, Komatsu or Hitachi mining/civil equipment highly regarded (HD Fitter stream)
n
Current C-Class Manual Driver's Licence
n
Valid National Police Clearance (issued within the last 12 months)
n
Ability to provide 2 x recent work references
n
Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
