Our client is seeking an experienced CA Datacom/DB Database Administrator (DBA) to support a complex enterprise mainframe workplace.
n
n This is a highly specialised opportunity suited to a CA Datacom/DB subject matter expert who can provide technical guidance, troubleshooting and contingency support across a business-critical legacy environment.
n
n The requirement is primarily focused on risk mitigation and specialist capability, providing additional Datacom expertise that can be called upon when required.
n The engagement is expected to run from November **** through to July ****, with the opportunity to work remotely from Australia or New Zealand.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Provide specialist CA Datacom/DB database administration and support
n
Support and maintain Datacom databases operating on IBM z/OS mainframes
n
Provide expertise across Datacom architecture, internals and database structures
n
Assist with mainframe database migration activities
n
Troubleshoot complex database, application and performance issues
n
Provide performance analysis, tuning and optimisation
n
Support interactions between PL/I applications and Datacom/DB
n




Provide technical guidance and recommendations when critical issues arise
n
Assist with the ongoing stability and resilience of a large-scale legacy environment
n
Step in quickly when specialist Datacom expertise is required
n
Skills & Experience
n
nTo be considered, you will ideally have strong commercial experience with:n
n
n
CA Datacom/DB administration – essential
n
CA Datacom/DB architecture and internals
n
IBM z/OS mainframe environments
n
Mainframe database migrations
n
Datacom database troubleshooting and performance tuning
n
PL/I and its interaction with Datacom/DB
n
Supporting complex, business-critical legacy environments
n
Large enterprise or banking/financial services environments
n
About You

nYou will be a highly experienced mainframe database specialist who is comfortable operating as a trusted technical expert and contingency resource, rather than solely in a traditional day-to-day DBA capacity.n
nYou will be able to quickly understand complex legacy environments, troubleshoot critical issues and provide clear technical guidance when required.n
