We are seeking experiencedNetwork Planning / Power Systems Engineersto join a major program supporting the future development of Victoria's electricity network.
With opportunities available acrossEngineer, Senior and Principal levels, these roles will support significant network growth and investment driven bymajor new connections, including large-scale data centres and other high-demand customers.
You'll play a key role in assessing future electricity demand, identifying network constraints and developing the distribution and sub-transmission solutions required to safely and reliably accommodate major new loads.
The Role
Working within theelectricity and energy infrastructure sector, you'll undertake and contribute to network planning activities across distribution, sub-transmission, zone substation and upstream networks.
Your responsibilities will include:
Monitor and forecastnetwork loading, utilisation and future capacity requirements
Undertakenetwork modelling, load-flow and contingency analysis
Assess the network impact ofmajor new connections and large electrical loads
Identify emerging network constraints, risks and capacity limitations
Develop planning requirements fordistribution and sub-transmission network augmentation
Assess requirements forzone substations and upstream terminal station infrastructure
Develop and evaluate technically and economically viable network augmentation options
Apply appropriaterisk assessment and management techniquesto network planning decisions
Prepare and contribute toRIT-D and RIT-T assessments and reports
Develop recommendations to support network investment and long-term planning
Work closely with engineering, operations, connections,



asset management and other key stakeholders
Provide technical input and assurance across complex network planning and augmentation initiatives
About You
We're interested in speaking with engineers who have experience within anelectricity utility, DNSP/TNSP, power systems consultancy or similar network setting.
Your background may include:
Electricitynetwork planning or power systems planning
Distribution and/or sub-transmission networks
Zone substations and terminal stations
Load and demand forecasting
Network loading and utilisation analysis
Load-flow, contingency and power system studies
Network capacity and constraint assessment
Major customer orlarge-load connections
Network augmentation and investment planning
Risk assessment and network planning methodologies
RIT-D and/or RIT-Tassessments
Network modelling tools such asPSS/E, PowerFactory, SINCAL or similar
Australian electricity network standards and regulatory requirements
Experience specifically withindata centres is advantageous but not essential.
Experience planning for other large customer connections, significant new loads or major network augmentation will also be highly relevant.
