About the role An excellent opportunity for an experienced Farm or Orchard Manager to take ownership of a well-established almond orchard near Hillston, NSW. Leading an experienced on-farm team, you'll be responsible for the overall performance of the orchard, including people, planning, day-to-day operations and asset management. Almond experience would be highly regarded; however, experienced managers from other tree crop operations, including citrus, avocado and stone fruit, are also encouraged to apply.
Duties n
n
Take overall responsibility for orchard performance, productivity, costs and reporting
n
Lead and develop an established team across irrigation, maintenance and orchard operations
n
Plan and coordinate activities across the full seasonal orchard calendar
n
Manage labour, machinery, equipment and operational resources
n
Oversee irrigation, orchard health, pest and disease management
n
Manage farm infrastructure, assets and preventative maintenance programs
n
Coordinate contractors, suppliers and other key stakeholders
n
Maintain strong safety, operational and performance standards across the orchard
n
Skills & experience n
n
Minimum 5 years' experience across farm operations and management
n
Experience within almonds or other permanent/tree crops such as vineyards, citrus, stone fruit or avocado highly regarded
n




Proven people leadership skills with the ability to set expectations, develop teams and maintain standards
n
Strong operational planning and organisational capability
n
Financial literacy, including budgeting, cost management and reporting
n
Sound understanding of WHS, farm safety and compliance requirements
n
Strong computer literacy, record keeping and reporting skills
n
Horticulture qualifications desirable but not essential
n
