Youth Worker & Playgroup Support Officer

This unique role combines youth work with supporting our much-loved community playgroup program, creating opportunities to engage with children, young people and families across all stages of early intervention and support.

About the Role n
No two days are the same. In this role, you'll work directly with young people and families while also supporting the delivery and growth of our community playgroup program.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Building genuine, respectful relationships with young people, children and families.
n
Providing case management, advocacy, information and referrals where required.
n
Supporting young people to access education, employment, health and community services.
n
Assisting with the coordination, promotion and delivery of our community playgroup program.
n
Creating welcoming and engaging environments for children, parents and carers participating in playgroup activities.
n
Building strong partnerships with local services, schools, community organisations and stakeholders.
n
Promoting positive outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and families.
n
Attending community events, meetings and activities to identify emerging needs and opportunities.
n
Maintaining accurate case notes, reports and program records.
n
About You n
You'll be someone who genuinely enjoys working with people and is passionate about supporting young people,
children and families to achieve their goals.
n
You'll bring:
n
n
Willing to obtain or already hold a Certificate IV or higher qualification in Community Services, Youth Work, Early Childhood Education, Social Services or a related field.
n
Demonstrated experience in youth work, case management or family support services.
n
Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities, or a strong commitment to culturally safe practice.
n
Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills.
n
Experience facilitating group activities, community programs or family-focused initiatives.
n
Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
n
Sound administration and record-keeping skills.
n
Understanding of child protection legislation and mandatory reporting obligations.
n
Current NSW Working with Children Check.
n
Current National Police Check.
n
Current Driver Licence.
n
n
