Logistics Coordinator
ESS provides multi-service capability to major companies and organisations operating in remote sites, gold mines and coal fields.
We provide vital workplace support for people working in some of the most isolated terrains in the world, from oil rigs in the North Sea to gold mines in the Australian Outback.
Working closely with the Compass Group Site Management Team to provide specialist advice, direct support and resources on health and safety issues, the Safety Advisor plays a key role in implementing Compass Group's health, safety, environment, and quality management systems at site level, while actively driving improvements and fostering a culture of safety and operational excellence.
THE POSITION
Coordinate the movement and distribution of life support supplies and materials for the Gorgon Project, Barrow Island
Planning of logistical movements, maintain receiving and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing policies and procedures
Scheduling and tracking of inbound and outgoing shipments
Processing shipments, ensuring goods are delivered to site in a timely manner and to Client's Quarantine standards and specifications
Ensuring goods are shipped appropriately to ensure compliance with quality, safety and Quarantine requirements (including transportation of Dangerous Goods)
Correctly complete all quarantine and logistics paperwork and submit electronically
Inspect delivery/receival of life support goods to ensure Quarantine, Quality and Safety compliance
Abiding to the Quarantine criteria in ensuring zero intercept of Quarantine risk materials to Barrow Island
Inspect all cargo received from suppliers to identify any quarantine risk and ensure quarantine compliance
Undertake detailed inspection on higher risk cargo and randomly selected cargo
Ensure good food safe practices are always observed
Ensure chiller and frozen cargo is placed in cool/cold stores promptly
Maintain validity of quarantine stickers on stored cargo
Issue non-conformance reports for any identified anomalies
Work with colleagues and customers
Communicate effectively in the workplace

Provide great service to colleagues and customers

Provide direction and guidance to other employees
Assist in the provision of on-the-job training and induction
Conduct 3-way matching process for goods delivered to FCC
Conduct stock take on goods receipted at FCC
Match goods stock taken against purchase orders and supplier's invoice
Data entry of stock receipted to Compass Group's online stock receipting platform
Complete invoice verification and approvals in Compass Group's online invoice platform
Complete Goods Receipt Status records
Complete 3-way matching spread sheets
Maintain operational and logistics records
Document control and records keeping of load plans, purchase orders, invoices, quarantine paperwork and operational related paperwork
Clean premises and equipment
Conduct weekly housekeeping
Maintain a clean, efficient, food safe and quarantine compliant working environment
Inspect empty containers into which cargo is to be packed, to verify quarantine compliance prior to any cargo being loaded.
Complete remediation cleaning where required
Apply basic communication skills
Receive and relay information
Follow routine instructions
Work with others promoting positive work culture
Receive and relay written messages
Draft easy correspondence
Ensure that regular lines of communication are maintained with your manager that will ensure issues are dealt with in a timely manner

THE PERSON
Team player and able to work autonomously
Can do and proactive attitudes, understanding we operate a food lifeline to a remote location
Ability to work in cold (chiller) environment for a prolonged time (average 8 hours per day, 3 days per week)
Physically fit in performing physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving whole body, such as lifting (including occasional heavy lifting), bending, squatting, balancing, walking, standing, stooping, and handling of materials
