Senior Security Specialist

Contract Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced
Senior Security Specialist
to join a high-performing Information Security team within a large and complex organisation.
This is a hands-on role focused on
Security Operations, incident detection and response, security monitoring and continuous improvement
.
Key responsibilities
Monitor, investigate and respond to security events and incidents.
Work across
SIEM, Microsoft Defender and Cloud Security
technologies.
Lead incident response activities, including
root cause analysis and post-incident reviews
.
Support threat intelligence, vulnerability assessments and security investigations.
Lead or support
digital forensic investigations
where required.
Work closely with MSSPs, internal technology teams and senior stakeholders.
Identify opportunities to improve security controls, processes and operational maturity.
Contribute to incident response plans, playbooks and security governance.
What we're looking for
Solid hands-on
Cyber Security / Security Operations
experience.
Experience with
Microsoft Defender, Splunk and/or Sentinel
.
Strong understanding of
Cloud Security, EDR/XDR,



network security and firewalls
.
Experience with
IAM/PAM, vulnerability management and threat hunting
.
Strong incident response capability and knowledge of
MITRE ATT&CK;
.
Understanding of
ISO *****, NIST or similar security frameworks
.
Experience with
digital forensics, threat intelligence and root cause analysis
highly regarded.
Excellent stakeholder communication and ability to work across technical and business teams.
Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or industry certifications.
