PERMANENT PART TIME - 40 HOURS PER FORTNIGHT

Alexandra District Health is looking for a skilled and passionate Cook or an individual with an interest in becoming a Cook, to lead our catering team and ensure patients, staff, and contract clients receive excellent food, every day.
n
The role is permanent part time 40 hours per fortnight with the possibility for the right applicant to pick up additional hours in other roles.
n
You'll take charge of daily food service operations, supervise catering assistants, and uphold strict food safety standards — all while bringing creativity and care to menu planning in collaboration with our Dietitian and Speech Pathologist.

About the role:
n
The Cook will:
n
n
Coordinate the daily tasks within catering services under the direction of the Support Services Manager
n
Complies with the Standard Operating Procedures and Support Programs of the Food Safety Plan (FSP) at all times
n
Ensure that all food prepared, cooked and supplied is of the highest possible standard
n
Prepare, present and delivery of food in accordance with the FSP
n
Accurately document food preparation, hygiene and delivery in accordance with the FSP and Alexandra District Health (ADH) Policies and Procedures
n
Ensures compliance with regulations under the Food Safety Act.
n




Demonstrate a sound knowledge and the application of principles and supervision of staff in line with the FSP
n
Work collaboratively within the team
n
Provide supervision, direction and support for the Support Services Assistants – catering
n
Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of dietary requirements and participate in menu and recipe development, maintenance and implementation in liaison with the Support Services Manager, Dietitian and Speech Pathologist.
n
Ensure cost effective management for the provision of catering services
n
Is responsible for completing meal preparation efficiently as per schedule
n
Maintain Food Safety Records including daily and monthly temperature process logs
n
Ensure the correct use and storage of all chemicals and products is in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines
n
Report and assist in the follow up of patient feedback
n
Maintain confidentiality of staff, patients and visitors
n
Communicate appropriately with staff, patients, relatives and visitors.
