The Opportunity n
We are seeking a reliable and hands-on
Shipyard Groundsman / Handyman
to support the ongoing upkeep, presentation, and general maintenance of our shipyard facilities.
n
This role will suit someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and is comfortable carrying out practical tasks across an active marine and heavy industry environment.
n

General grounds and yard maintenance
n
Cleaning, tidying, and keeping work areas safe and organised
n
Basic repairs and handyman tasks around the site
n
Assisting with facilities upkeep and minor maintenance
n
Supporting trades and yard teams as required
n
Moving materials, equipment, and supplies around the yard
n
Identifying and reporting hazards, maintenance issues, or repairs required
n
n
This is an excellent prospect for someone who enjoys hands-on work, responsibility, and being part of a supportive team within the marine and heavy industry sector.
What You'll Bring n
We're looking for a practical, reliable and hands-on person with experience in one or more of the following areas:
n
n
Groundskeeping, yard maintenance, or facilities upkeep
n




General handyman work, basic repairs, or property maintenance
n
Mechanical repairs, basic servicing, or assisting with maintenance tasks
n
Working alongside a qualified diesel fitter or tradesperson to support repair and maintenance work
n
n
You'll thrive in this role if you are:

Reliable, punctual, and willing to get stuck in
n
Confident using hand tools, basic equipment, and practical problem-solving skills
n
Comfortable assisting with mechanical repairs under the guidance of a qualified diesel fitter
n
Able to work both autonomously and as part of a team
n
Safety-focused and comfortable working in physically demanding outdoor and industrial environments
n
A self-starter with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
n
Licences & Certifications n

Elevated Work Platform (EWP)

Current Drivers Licence
n
Required (or willingness to obtain): n

Construction Induction (White Card)

Working at Heights

Confined Space Entry

Ability to pass drug & alcohol screening
