Alchemy Recruitment is partnering with a state government client to support them in recruiting for an Assistant Materials Officer based in East Toowoomba, QLD.
n
This is a 6-month contract (with extension potential), with an immediate start.
n
About the role:
n
n
Undertake basic materials classification and compliance testing, and assist practitioners with specialist tests
n
Support sampling, equipment checking, calibration, investigations and instrumentation
n
Complete significant calculation work using manual and software-based tools
n
Work both indoor and outdoor, including physically demanding tasks (lifting up to 25kg, shovelling, uneven terrain)
n
Occasional isolated locations with limited mobile coverage for up to 5 days — all travel costs covered
n
n
Preferred Requirements:
n
n
Current Class C driver's licence
n
Sound numeracy skills, comfortable with software-based calculation tools
n
Physically able to perform manual handling, lifting and extended standing/walking
n
Comfortable with regional travel and time away from home base
n
n
Preferred Qualifications:
n
n
No formal qualifications mandatory, but prior materials, geotech, civil lab or technical testing experience highly regarded
n
