The Role: As a Community Occupational Therapist, you will:
Provide occupational therapy to people living with dementia in their own homes
Complete comprehensive assessments of clients, their home environments and support needs
Work with clients and their families/carers toestablishmeaningful, achievable goals
Support clients tomaintainindependence with everyday activities and routines
Provide education and strategies to families and carers
Work collaboratively with Physiotherapists and other allied health professionals
Review client progress and adapt interventions throughout the program
Develop recommendations and referral pathways to support clients beyond the program
About You
You will be an Occupational Therapist who enjoys the autonomy and variety of community practice and is passionate about helping older people live well at home.
You will have:
A recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy
Current AHPRA registration
Current driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
Strong communicationand relationship-building skills
Confidence working independently in a community setting
An interest in dementia, cognitiverehabilitationand healthy ageing
Community, agedcareor dementia experience is desirable; however, comprehensive orientation and support will be provided
All applicants mustpossessor be willing to obtain a police check, NDIS Workers Screening Check and registration in their relevant discipline.
