THE POSITION:
We are seeking to fill
one permanent and one temporary (12-month) Accounts Receivable Officer position
within our Finance team.
The Accounts Receivable Officer plays a key role in supporting Council's financial operations through the administration of invoicing, debt collection, receipting, reconciliations and month-end processing activities.
Working closely with internal business units and external customers, you will help ensure the accurate and timely collection of Council revenue, maintain financial records and contribute to the delivery of efficient, high-quality customer service.
The role also provides support to the Rates Team to meet operational requirements where required.
ABOUT YOU:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Well-developed customer service skills, with the ability to respond professionally and effectively to customer enquiries and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Experience in accounts receivable, invoicing, debt collection, receipting and related financial administration processes.
Robust organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate financial records and information management systems.
Experience undertaking reconciliations, reporting activities and month-end processing to support financial integrity and reporting requirements.
The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment to achieve service delivery objectives.
Sound problem-solving skills, with the initiative to identify issues and implement practical solutions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook, along with experience using financial management systems and databases.
Knowledge of Local Government legislation and processes relating to rates and receivables will be highly regarded.
SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
1x Permanent full-time position, working 70 hours per fortnight
1x Temporary 12-month full-time position, working 70 hours per fortnight
This position is a Grade 3, with a salary range of $71, 173 p.a. with progression to $74, 777 p.a. on demonstrated competencies, and performance progression up to $83, 373 p.a., plus superannuation.
