About the Role n
Our client is seeking a skilled Telecommunications Engineer specializing in Transmission systems to join their team in Queenstown . This critical role will involve the design, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of the company's core transmission network, ensuring robust and high-capacity data flow across the region. You will work with cutting-edge technologies to build and manage the backbone of our client's telecommunications services, playing a vital part in network reliability and future scalability. Key Responsibilities n

Design and engineer transmission network solutions, including fiber optic, microwave, and other transport technologies.

Plan and execute network upgrades, expansions, and cutovers with minimal service impact.

Monitor network performance, analyze traffic patterns, and implement optimizations for capacity and efficiency.
n
Troubleshoot and resolve complex transmission network faults, ensuring rapid restoration of services.
n
Develop and maintain detailed network designs, documentation, and configuration standards.
n




Collaborate with other engineering teams and vendors on integration and new technology deployment.

Requirements n
n
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering,
Telecommunications,
or a related field.
n
Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing, deploying, and managing telecom transmission networks.
n
In-depth knowledge of DWDM, OTN, SDH/SONET, microwave radio, and IP networking principles.
n
Experience with transmission planning tools and network simulation software.
n
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach to fault resolution.
n
Familiarity with vendor equipment (e.g., Nokia, Huawei, Ciena) is advantageous.
