**The part you will play**As part of the Building Services Team and broader Building and Planning Services team you will work closely with the internal stakeholders/Community.
* Support the MBS and Council in managing complex regulatory and compliance matters under the Building Act **** and the Local Government Act ****.* Provide technical and leadership mentoring to staff within the building services team, ensuring best-practice processes and quality outcomes.
* Act under full delegation in the MBS's absence as well as in supporting the delegation function to maintain statutory service delivery and decision-making continuity.
* The DMBS deputies performing the statutory functions of Council's Municipal Building Surveyor (MBS) as required, ensuring continuity of leadership and decision-making across the function and act under full delegation in the MBS's absence* Contribute to Council's emergency call-out roster, supporting life safety and critical incident management within the community.




* Represent Council in high-risk and compliance matters, including court proceedings and technical assessments.This is an outstanding opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a vital leadership role while further developing your professional expertise in a Local Government setting.
