Help strengthen, connect and advocate for Neighbourhood Houses across Melbourne's West!
Network West is seeking a dynamic experienced person to be our Network Manager who will lead our small, independent community organisation and work alongside Neighbourhood Houses and Community Centres across Melbourne's western metropolitan region.
Network West supports, strengthens and advocates for 53-member Neighbourhood Houses/Community and Community Centres across seven local government areas: Brimbank, Melton, Maribyrnong, Hobsons Bay, Wyndham, Melbourne and Moonee Valley.
Network West is an incorporated association governed by the Committee of Management.
Using a community development framework, we work with our members to build capacity, share knowledge, respond to emerging issues and advocate for a strong and thriving Neighbourhood House sector.
About the role
This is a solo, highly autonomous and varied role that is responsible for the management of the organisation and involves working closely with member houses/centres as well as government and sector partners.
The Network West Manager provides leadership across, member support, sector development, risk management, advocacy, partnerships and the day-to-day management of Network West.
The role involves regular engagement with members across the West, facilitating meetings, events and supporting the organisation to deliver its strategic priorities.
We are looking for someone with strong community development experience, community sector knowledge, governance and organisational management skills, who is confident working independently and building relationships across a diverse network.




You will bring:
A tertiary qualification in community development, social work or a relevant discipline and/or relevant experience (min 5 years);
a strong commitment to community development and the Neighbourhood House sector;
significant experience in management or a senior role within a community-based or not-for-profit organisation;
strong relationship-building, communication and facilitation skills;
extensive experience supporting good governance, managing organisational risk, contributing to organisational planning, and financial management;
the ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and respond constructively to emerging issues.
What we offer
30 hours per week, with days and times negotiable
Ongoing permanent part-time employment, subject to funding
Flexible hybrid working arrangements.
(Network West currently has part time use of an office.)
Travel kilometres reimbursed in accordance with the NHACE Collective Agreement ****
Commencement date:
Monday 2 February ****.
Applicants must have, or be willing to obtain:
A current Working with Children Check.
A successful Police Check.
Proof of residency if not an Australian citizen.
Driver's license and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle.
