Carbal is looking for a
Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse
to join our Toowoomba primary health care team on a permanent part-time basis.
n
You'll work alongside GPs, Aboriginal Health Workers, Nurses and Allied Health professionals, providing culturally safe, person-centred care within a busy and supportive multidisciplinary clinic.
Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses considered Monday to Friday – no weekends or shift work n

About the Role n
As a
Practice Nurse
, you'll provide hands-on nursing care across a broad range of primary health activities, supporting clients with preventative health, chronic disease management, health assessments, care planning and treatment room services.
n
You'll work closely with
GPs, Aboriginal Health Workers, Allied Health professionals and other members of the clinical team
, helping provide coordinated and culturally safe care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and families.
n
The position is
permanent part-time
, with regular weekday hours and the opportunity to work additional hours from time to time to provide annual leave relief for other members of the nursing team.
n
For an
Enrolled Nurse
, duties will be undertaken within your scope of practice and appropriate clinical supervision arrangements.

What You'll Be Doing Clinical Care n
Provide high-quality, culturally safe nursing care within scope of practice
n
Support
chronic disease management, preventative health and early intervention
n
Assist with health assessments, care planning, recalls and follow-up
n
Undertake treatment room procedures within scope
n
Provide wound care and dressings
n
Support immunisation activities where appropriately qualified and authorised
n
Assist GPs and other clinicians with procedures
n
Respond to client clinical needs and escal
Client Engagement & Preventative Health n
Help clients engage with health services and treatment plans
n
Support health education and preventative health initiatives
n
Encourage early intervention and healthy lifestyle strategies
n
Build respectful relationships with clients and families
n
Contribute to culturally safe and person-centred care
Working as Part of the Clinical Team n
Work collaboratively with
GPs, Aboriginal Health Workers, Nurses and Allied Health professionals
n
Maintain accurate and timely clinical records using Best Practice
n
Support coordinated care across Carbal's programs and services
n
Participate in quality improvement and accreditation activities
n
Maintain high standards of infection control, clinical safety and professional practice
n

You'll Be a Great Fit If You... n
Current
AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse
n
Diploma of Nursing (EN), Bachelor of Nursing (RN), or recognised equivalent qualification
n
Experience in primary care, general practice, community health or a related clinical environment
or a willingness to develop your skills in primary health care
n
Solid clinical, communication and documentation skills
n
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
n
Commitment to providing culturally safe care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients
n
Ability to manage your workload and respond to changing clinical priorities
n
Confidence using clinical systems and technology
n
Current QLD C Class Driver Licence
n
Current First Aid and CPR certification
n
Capacity to provide
additional annual leave relief from time to time
would be highly regarded
Highly Regarded n
Experience in general practice or primary health care
n
Experience in chronic disease management and care planning
n
Wound care experience
n
Experience using
Best Practice
or similar clinical software
n
Previous experience within an Aboriginal Medical Service or Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation
