Role Description
The Property Lawyer (PAE 3–4 years) will manage a range of property law matters on a full-time basis at Grindal Legal's Melbourne, VIC office (WFH options available). Day-to-day responsibilities include advising clients on property transactions (both vanilla & complex), drafting and reviewing contracts, commercial leases, and related documentation, and overseeing conveyancing processes from instruction to settlement. The role involves liaising with clients, other legal practitioners, lenders, and external stakeholders to resolve issues, manage risk, and ensure smooth completion of transactions. The Property Lawyer will conduct legal research, maintain accurate matter files, and stay current with relevant legislation and case law. This on-site role also includes contributing to internal knowledge-sharing, supervision by senior lawyers,



mentoring junior team members where appropriate, and supporting business development initiatives related to property services, all within an open-plan office environment. Qualifications
Admitted to practice law and holding a current Australian legal practicing certificate, with approximately 3–4 years post-admission experience in property law.
Demonstrated experience in residential & commercial property transactions, including contract and commercial lease drafting, due diligence, and conveyancing processes, with experience working with and advising on developments (vendor/developer side) highly desirable.
Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage risk and provide commercially focused advice.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex issues in clear, practical terms to clients.
Proven ability to manage multiple matters, meet deadlines, and maintain robust attention to detail in a fast-paced open-plan environment.
Collaborative working style, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients, colleagues, lenders, and other stakeholders.
Experience in related areas such as mortgage lending services, wills and estates, or probate and administration is advantageous but not essential.
Commitment to ongoing professional development, a genuine passion for mentoring junior staff and staying up to date with changes in property and related legislation.
