About the Role n
The Finance Manager is primarily responsible for the day-to-day finance function of the construction business for a large property group based on the city fringe. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Finance Manager will drive weekly, monthly, and annual financial reporting and analysis, and manage a team. The role will business partner with various internal stakeholders and be pivotal in providing accurate and effective financial reporting and insights to assist with strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities n
n
Manage a team or 3 direct reports
n
Trusted business partner role supporting the General Manager and leadership team with analysis and financial insights
n
Strategic liaison with key internal stakeholders
n
Conduct weekly cash forecasting and present to the management team
n
Perform cash flow and financial analysis, highlighting movements and variances to forecasts
n
Complete ad hoc financial modelling to support the business with growth opportunities
n
Oversee the financial accounting function including month-end and year-end financial reporting
n




Assist the Management team with long term budgeting and forecasting process
n
Prepare monthly management reports and board packs for the business
n
Manage Work In Progress (WIP) including accounting, reporting and analysis
n
Oversee daily cash management, optimising cashflow for working capital needs
n
Lead the annual year-end compliance process and be the primary point of contact with external accountants and advisors
n
Background n
n
Construction industry/property development industry background in a similar senior finance leader role
n
Open to 1st mover manager level from 2nd tier accounting firms (business services). That have worked with construction or property development clients.
n
Ability to provide in depth financial analysis and present in meetings with senior stakeholders
n
Excellent communication across all levels
n
Sound problem solving skills
n
Proven ability to drive outcomes
n
Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organisational skills
n
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business or Accounting and CA or CPA qualified
n
Highly strategic role
