About the role
As a Sales Assistant, this is your opportunity to deliver great customer service while supporting the day-to-day operations of the store and warehouse, contributing to the mission and impact of The Salvation Army.
Reporting to the Corps Operations and Services Manager, this is a casual role based onsite in Southern Highlands, NSW.
Deliver exceptional customer service and assist customers across all areas of the store.
Process donations, replenish stock, and ensure merchandise is correctly priced and presented.
Support store promotions, visual merchandising, and marketing activities.
Maintain cash handling and banking procedures in line with policy.
Contribute to a clean, safe, and well-organised store environment.
Follow Work Health & Safety requirements and complete other duties as directed.
What you will bring
Demonstrated customer service experience working in a retail environment with an ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
Sound presentation and communication skills (both verbal and written) with an ability to interact with a variety of people, using tact, discretion and diplomacy in challenging or sensitive situations.
Ability to prioritise tasks, manage time effectively, multitask and communicate professionally with staff, volunteers, customers and donors in a courteous and respectful manner.




A National police record check is required and prior to commencement.
Knowledge of work health safety obligations and to practice these in the workplace.
Incumbent needs to have a reasonable level of fitness in order to carry out the duties of this position.

Compensation is in accordance with General Retail Award Level 1
