Job Description
n
Tobe responsible forall onsite technical matters including construction verification works. You will schedule, monitor, plan, forecast, resource and manage all the technical activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality.
n
Assistthe construction department in the coordination of efficient operation of a multi-discipline workforce, combining direct workforce, supplementary labour, and external subcontractors. Coordinate and ensure compliance of all relevant design, safety, quality, community, environmental and sustainability related deliverables and documentation.
Qualifications: n
n
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
n
White Card
n
Driver'sLicense
n
Experience: n
n
Minimum 5-years' experience working in
theMarineConstruction
& Dredgingindustry on large scale projects or other suitable projects works - preferred.
n
Advanced MS Office skills
n
Competence in interpreting and explaining technical schedules and documentation.
n
Demonstrated experience in planning and reporting against cost and time.
n
Robust understanding of programme management, deadlines, and budget controls
n
High level verbal and written communication skills
n
Demonstrated ability to work successfully and autonomously within a fast-paced project environment and deliver on deadlines.
n
Strong attitude and awareness of safety and focus and commitment to azero-harmenvironment.
n
Proven experience in successfully delivering large work packages with Tier 1 construction contractors.
n
Prior experience
indredging,underwaterdrill
and blast, ground support and stabilisation works are preferred.
n
Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities: n
n
Develop construction
methodologies,programmeand
SWMS for given packages
n
Leading the delivery of packages of stage3excavation,
groundsupportanddredging
works, while coordinating with the wider project team
n
Oversee the development and implementation of construction methods onsite in consultation with the Senior Project Engineer and Construction Superintendent
n
Daily, weekly, and monthly productivity and cost monitoring and reporting
n
The procuring of permanent
materials/Subcontracts
n
Ensure Site Engineers, and subordinates, are clear on their responsibilities - provide regular feedback to ensure effective performance and develop team members for succession opportunities.
n
Manage the short/medium construction planning for the works including development of 6WLAH.
n
Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and key project personnel and ensure buy in to safety and quality strategies.
n
Develop QAQC Lot Maps
n
Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities to ensure that the project is safely deliveredin accordance withtime, budget, and quality requirements.
n
Prepare, schedule, coordinate andmonitorthe assigned engineering projects.
n
Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies,
performancestandardsand
specifications
n
Interact daily with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field.
n
Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide technical support.
n
Review engineering deliverables
andinitiateappropriate
correctiveactions.
n
Preparation and coordination of personnel, equipment, and materials to ensure effective mobilisation to the site.
n
Undertake the preparation of variations including taking off quantities and pricing.
n
Coordinate and ensure compliance with all design, safety, quality, community and environmental related deliverables and documentation.
n
Produce any related studies or documentation and method statements asrequired.
n
Monitor, document and report, physical progress against schedule and any
delays/interference
which may have affected progress.
n
Liaise with client representatives, Senior Project Engineers,
ProjectEngineersand
Site Supervision in relation to permits to work, JHA's, ITP, and any other requirements to enable
thetimelycompletion
of the work.
n
Ensure that all systems procedures, statutory requirements,
engineeringstandardsand
sound construction practices are alwayscomplied with.
n
Ensure all day works, variations and other claims and accurately recorded and reported and liaise with contract administration to ensure all financial entitlements of the company are protected.
n
Actively pursue any gaps in engineering information that may leave the companyexposed, oralternatively propose and agree through the proper channels a solution to the problem.
