Job Description Start Date: 12/10/2026/ASAP End Date: 30/04/2027 Hours: 40 hours per week Work Arrangement (Office, Hybrid or WFH):2 days in Tuesday and Thursday) and 3 days WFH About the Role We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst / Consultant to provide business analysis and asset data management expertise in support of digital transformation initiatives, asset management planning, data governance, and data-driven decision making.
The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and project managers to improve business processes, enhance asset information management, and deliver technology-enabled business outcomes.
A key focus of this role will be supporting current project workloads requiring advanced Power BI capabilities.
Key Responsibilities Business Analysis Process Improvement Analyse and document business requirements, processes, and workflows.
Identify opportunities for technology-enabled business improvements.
Facilitate workshops and stakeholder consultations to gather and validate requirements.
Translate business needs into detailed functional and system requirements.
Develop business cases, process maps, use cases, and functional specifications.
Asset Data Management Maintain and improve asset registers and associated information systems.
Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of asset data.
Support asset lifecycle management and strategic asset planning initiatives.
Develop processes and controls for effective asset information management.
Monitor and improve asset data quality and reporting standards.
Data Governance Reporting Ensure compliance with data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
Develop dashboards, reports, and analytical solutions using Power BI and related tools.
Provide insights and recommendations through data analysis and reporting.
Support evidence-based decision-making through accurate and timely information.
System Delivery Change Support Support system implementation, integration, testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Assist with change management activities, training, and adoption initiatives.
Work closely with technical teams to ensure solution requirements are delivered effectively.
Coordinate issue resolution and support continuous improvement activities.
Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate with business users, project teams, vendors, and external stakeholders.
Provide advice and recommendations relating to asset management, reporting, and business improvement.
Facilitate communication between business and technical teams to achieve project outcomes.
Requirements Essential Skills and Experience The successful candidate must demonstrate experience in: Business analysis and requirements elicitation.
Business process mapping and process improvement.
Asset management and asset information systems.
Data governance, data quality, and information management.
SQL development and database querying.
Power BI dashboard development and data visualisation.
Advanced Microsoft Excel reporting and analysis.
User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and system implementation support.
Stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation.
Change management and business readiness activities.
Robust analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Desirable Skills Experience in one or more of the following would be highly regarded: ArcGIS VertiGIS Python programming Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems Data integration and ETL processes Government sector experience Qualifications Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Business, Information Systems, Engineering, Asset Management, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
Industry certifications in Business Analysis, Asset Management, Data Analytics, or Project Management are desirable.
