Location: Sydney / Melbourne / Brisbane / Adelaide / Perth
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

About the role:
Join CSR as a Purchasing Officer based in one of our CSR metro locations and provide purchasing support to stakeholders and sites across Australia.
You will coordinate day-to-day purchasing activities while helping the business improve consistency, compliance, and service across its purchasing processes.
You will manage purchase orders, resolve supplier and invoice issues, and help strengthen purchasing practices across the business.
This includes increasing the use of preferred suppliers, improving process compliance, and supporting procurement improvement initiatives.
Working closely with site stakeholders, suppliers, Accounts Payable, and the broader purchasing team, you will provide practical support and help embed effective purchasing practices across the organisation.
This role offers broad exposure to purchasing operations, supplier management, invoice resolution, procurement governance, and process improvement.




It would suit a proactive and detail-oriented person who wants to deepen their procurement experience within a supportive national team.
Key responsibilities:
Purchasing operations
* Review purchasing requests and create accurate purchase orders within the required timeframes.
* Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies, procedures, and approval requirements.
* Monitor and resolve goods receipt and invoice receipt discrepancies, including blocked and parked invoices.
* Work with suppliers and Accounts Payable to resolve purchase order, claim, and invoice issues.
Governance and improvement
* Promote the use of preferred supplier arrangements and support procurement optimisation initiatives.
* Identify process issues, recommend improvements, and help embed consistent purchasing practices across the business.
* Reinforce purchasing requirements, including the need for approved purchase orders before goods or services are supplied.
Stakeholder and supplier support
* Provide practical purchasing support to internal stakeholders.
* Build productive relationships with suppliers, site teams, and the broader procurement function.
* Provide basic guidance and training on purchasing systems, goods receipting, and related processes.
What you bring to the role:
Essential
* Experience in purchasing, procurement, Accounts Payable, supply chain, or a similar operational environment.




* Working knowledge of SAP or a comparable ERP system.
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
* Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to resolve supplier and invoice issues.
* Clear communication skills and confidence working with internal and external stakeholders.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
* Ability to work effectively within established policies, processes, and approval requirements.
* A collaborative approach and willingness to learn
Desirable
* Experience resolving purchase order, invoice, or goods-receipt discrepancies.
* Exposure to procurement policies, preferred supplier arrangements, or process improvement initiatives.
