The VCAA is a statutory body responsible to the Victorian Minister for Education, serving both government and non-government schools.
We provide high quality curriculum, assessment and reporting for all Victorian students birth to 18 years.
An exciting opportunity exists to join the Corporate Services Division in the ICT Branch for a Fixed-term full-time position.
* Salary: $142,790 - $191,084 (Plus Superannuation of 12%)
* Usual hours of work: Full time (flexible work conditions are available)
* Usual work location: East Melbourne
Role Purpose
The Enterprise Architect is responsible for establishing and maintaining the enterprise architecture that enables the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) to deliver trusted, contemporary and secure digital services.
The role provides strategic leadership across business, information, application and technology architecture, ensuring ICT investments align with organisational priorities, VCAA and departmental platforms, whole-of-government direction and the VCAA ICT Strategy and roadmap.
Working across complex business and technology environments, the Enterprise Architect develops enterprise architecture strategies, principles, standards and roadmaps that guide technology decisions and support sustainable digital transformation.
The role provides architecture governance and assurance across major programs and projects, ensuring solutions are fit-for-purpose, interoperable, secure, scalable and aligned with enterprise objectives.
The Enterprise Architect works collaboratively with executives, business stakeholders, project teams, solution architects and external partners to analyse business capabilities, identify opportunities for improvement, reduce technology risk and enable informed investment decisions.
Through a strong focus on business value, innovation and continuous improvement, the role supports the delivery of modern, resilient and customer-focused services.

You will have demonstrated experience developing enterprise architecture across business, information,
application and technology domains while building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.

You will demonstrate:
* extensive experience developing enterprise architecture strategies, principles, standards and roadmaps
* strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or equivalent
* experience across business, information, application, integration and technology architecture
* exceptional analytical, strategic thinking and problem-solving capability
* excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
* the ability to influence technology decisions across multidisciplinary teams
* a commitment to secure, customer-focused and contemporary digital service delivery.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
* Demonstrated experience as an Enterprise Architect, Lead Architect or equivalent senior architecture role within a complex ICT environment.
* Demonstrated experience providing architecture governance and assurance across large programs and projects.
* Experience analysing business capabilities and translating strategic objectives into enterprise architecture outcomes.
* Demonstrated experience working with cloud platforms, enterprise integration, information management and modern application architectures.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills, including advising senior executives.
* Experience applying architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture methodologies.
Desirable:
* TOGAF certification or equivalent enterprise architecture certification.
* Experience within Victorian Government, Australian Government or other large public sector organisations.
* Knowledge of Victorian Government Digital Standards, Protective Data Security Standards, Information Privacy Principles and contemporary cyber security practices.
* Experience with architecture repositories and modelling tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect, Archi, LeanIX or similar.
* Understanding of Azure cloud services, Microsoft enterprise platforms and integration technologies, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Mulesoft
