You will assist with preparing detailed project quotations and tender submissions for Furniture Fittings and Equipment (FF&E;) across major hotel, Build to Rent and hospitality projects. You will work closely with our Senior Estimator and learn Furn-Niche's purpose-built costing systems and estimating processes. Our projects can be complicated. The right person will enjoy investigating the detail, working through large amounts of information and methodically bringing the complete scope together.
Key responsibilities
Reviewing architectural drawings, furniture schedules, specifications and tender documents
Finding the relevant information within large construction document packages and tender portals such as Aconex and Procure
Completing quantity take-offs and identifying missing or conflicting information
Preparing detailed quote requests for our China estimators and manufacturing partners
Obtaining competitive pricing from factories and local suppliers
Quoting custom furniture, joinery, fabrics, finishes and locally procured products
Building up freight, warehousing, delivery and installation costs
Working with our designers to understand layouts, materials and design intent
Working with project managers and installation partners to understand delivery requirements
Maintaining and improving our estimating database and costing templates
About you




One to two years of relevant experience or a capable graduate who is keen to learn
A relevant qualification in quantity surveying, construction management, architecture, engineering, interior design or a related field
Strong numerical ability and commercial awareness
Exceptional attention to detail
A methodical and diligent approach
The ability to read architectural plans, or a strong willingness to learn
Confidence working through large and sometimes complicated document packages
Strong Excel and general computer skills
Transparent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with estimating, quantity take-offs, construction documentation or tender platforms would be highly regarded but is not essential
