Chief Marketing Officer - High-Ticket Coaching (Fully Remote)
We're Alignr, a modern recruitment & growth partner helping ambitious businesses hire smarter and faster.
This time we're partnering with a leading business coaching and systems company for residential builders. They've grown to with ~700 members and around 90 people across six countries, and they've been operating since ****, so this is an established business that's hit another gear, not an overnight play.
They have big growth plans which is where this role comes into play + a planned portfolio of companies beyond the core coaching business.
This is the hire that puts a genuine leader at the helm of marketing. In July ****, Sales and Delivery each got a director paid on their number. Marketing is the last major function the founders still run day to day, and the plan to double the business doesn't fit inside their calendars. This seat is where that accountability now lands.
Importantly, this seat leads the department, it isn't a performance marketer with a bigger title. You'll set the standard, measure against it, give the feedback, have the hard conversation with whoever's missing it, and bring ideas to the founders before they reach in. You'll need to know what good marketing looks like and lead the team to it, both qualitatively and quantitatively.
The package (clear and uncapped)
$250,000 - $300,000 Package (inc super), with headroom up to $350,000 for a proven operator
Monthly bonus: a department ladder on new sales and blended CAC, worth ~$6,000 per month at target (~$72k per year), uncapped
Quarterly bonus: a C-suite bonus on revenue growth and net profit, worth ~$12,000 per quarter at target (~$48k per year)
On-target earnings: ~$420,000 (base plus ~$72k plus ~$48k), and genuinely uncapped past target, with every performance band above target worth more (around $480k at the next band up)
Are you looking for...
A genuine C-suite seat alongside two owners and two directors, held by results rather than title?
Full ownership of the entire top of funnel across two continents, with budget scaling toward $400k+ per month and a mandate to open new channels?
A role where marketing is openly the single biggest growth lever, setting the pace for Sales and Delivery?
A proven, established business with a clear path to ~$50M and a portfolio of companies to come?
A top-of-market, genuinely uncapped package with a real equity conversation on the table at 12 months?
What's in it for you
A genuine C-suite seat alongside the two owners and two directors, held by results
A top-of-market, uncapped package: $300k base (up to $350k) plus ~$120k of bonuses at target (~$420k OTE), uncapped past it
Real ownership of the entire top of funnel across two continents, with budget scaling toward $400k+ per month
Marketing as the single biggest growth lever in the business, setting the pace for Sales and Delivery
All-star Sales and Member Success teams already at high standards, the sales process is taught at industry events,

and Member Success runs sub-4% churn
A goldmine of untapped proof (a win a day, member trainings, Grand Designs and HGTV features) that barely reaches marketing today
Fully remote, high-trust, all-in executive culture
The role
You'll report to the Managing Director and Co-Owner day to day, with a weekly 1:1, and to the Founder and CEO on the monthly full-funnel review. You'll hold a genuine seat on the executive team alongside the two owners and the Heads of Sales, Delivery and Tech, and lead a marketing function of around 10 to 12 through five pod leads spanning growth marketing, marketing optimisation, creative ops, events, global partnerships and video.
You'll own every dollar and every name that enters the pipeline before a salesperson speaks to it: paid traffic, funnels, creative, webinars, live events and partnerships, all pointing at one output, qualified builders booked in front of the sales team at a cost per acquisition that holds while spend climbs.
The needle-mover is clear: grow new sales from the current floor toward 70+ a month across the two territories at a blended CAC under $6,000, while paid spend scales from ~$250k a month toward $400k+.
Within 12 months the founders are out of marketing's day to day, and the department runs as a flywheel with Member Success and Sales.
Your first 90 days
Days 1 to 30, run what exists: sit in every cadence, audit the funnel end to end by territory, take the Growth Engine pod, and set needle-movers for Events and Partnerships
Days 31 to 60, take the chair: own the weekly marketing call, the stand-ups and the end-of-day standard, take MQL ownership, have the first difficult conversation, and name the first constraint with a costed fix
Days 61 to 90, build: restructure if needed, get the first new platform or territory test live, and settle key seats on scorecards
Who we're looking for
Two non-negotiables sit above everything: intensity (you measure progress in hours and days, hold the team to the standard and expect the same back) and genuine marketing chops (a capable direct-response marketer who can get into an ad account or funnel and isolate what's missing).
Beyond that:
Has led a marketing team of 10+ inside an eight-figure business, and worked for or built a team doing $25M+. A genuine CMO-level operator who ran the department and owned the number, not a copywriter or media buyer in a bigger title
Has personally owned $200k+ per month in paid spend for a year or more (their own budget and accountability, not an agency they tapped on the shoulder), comfortable at $250k to $500k+,

and can show the CAC when they started against when they left
Direct-response first: unique mechanism, reason why, and depth and specificity on the problem, solution and avatar, and knows where the bodies lie in high-ticket paid media
Has run the daily cadence (stand-ups, scorecards, EOD reports, weekly projections) and has genuinely coached people up and moved people out, with the numbers to tell it
More CMO than player-coach, but still able to get into an ad account or funnel personally when it matters
Preferred
Experience marketing a high-ticket coaching, consulting, education or membership offer (book-a-call, webinar and VSL funnels), scaling paid search and YouTube alongside Meta, and event, webinar and partner marketing that fed a sales team. Residential construction familiarity is welcome and taught here. Industry-agnostic beyond that.
Who this isn't for
A performance marketer who wants a bigger title, this seat leads and directs the department
Anyone who hasn't personally managed $200k+ per month in ad spend
Anyone who hasn't led a team of 10+ in a marketing function inside an eight-figure business
People uncomfortable having difficult conversations with underperformers
Ivory-tower operators who talk to the big dogs but can't get mechanical
CVs that talk the talk but fall apart after three or four detailed paid-media questions
Brand-first marketers, or those who treat cutting headcount with AI as the goal
Anyone who wants to maintain and plod along, needs a rigid 9-to-5, or is a pure-volume tech-startup marketer with no feel for a high-ticket coaching offer
Must-haves
Real intensity in your leadership, standards and expectations
Genuine, hands-on direct-response marketing chops
A track record leading a marketing team of 10+ inside an eight-figure business
Personal ownership of $200k+ per month in paid spend for a year or more
A proven record of running the daily cadence and coaching talent up or out
Comfortable operating remotely across a split-day, multi-region rhythm
Nice to haves
Experience marketing a high-ticket coaching, consulting, education or membership offer
Scaling paid search and YouTube alongside Meta and TikTok
Event, webinar and partner marketing that fed a sales team
Fluency with HubSpot, Hyros and GA4, and a working sense of where AI removes manual work
A note on engagement and location
This is a fully remote role, but with the bulk of the team in Australia we're only looking for an Australia-based leader. The business is New Zealand-based and engages its Australian team members as contractors, while treating everyone as full-time in practice with leave, holidays and so on. You'll engage as a contractor via an ABN, submitting a monthly statement of works against your package, with sick and annual leave loaded in so you receive full-time-equivalent benefits. We're crystal explicit on this with every candidate from the first conversation, so there are no surprises.
